Gabbay Madu
Gabbay Madu is an Afro- Latina actor, singer, sound designer, and Musician committed to sharing stories and elevating experiences through art. She believes there is no better teacher than life and art.
Gabbay is from Jamaica and holds a bachelor’s degree in both Theatre and Computer Science from Monmouth College and an MFA in Acting from the University of Arkansas. Her artistic practices strongly embody equity and inclusion, and she is passionate about expanding theatre so that everyone can see themselves on stage.
Her graduate thesis focuses on her One Person Show “Wanti Wanti Nuh Ghetti: Navigating the American Theatre Through a Multicultural Lens,” and discusses the importance of access to pieces that reflect the lives and experiences of women of colour in collegiate theatre and the risks or challenges that arise when it is not prioritized.
She values teaching greatly and believes that theatre is the best place for holistic growth and education.

She is the recipient of the KCACTF RED in DTM Award, the KCACTF Award, Theatrical Design Excellence, and is the KCACTF Marvin Sims Fellowship Nominee for 2022.
